You know? As a “believer” of magic, I have actually considered this many times. Truly, I thought I would just be able to answer this without blinking an eye but magic is tricky and I REALLY don’t want to make the same mistake others do when they are asking for things in a story. The characters are always so short-sighted. They don’t see the limitations of the words that they use to make their requests. They don’t see the loopholes that they leave the magic to both give them what they want without fulfilling the true desire.
I am probably about to make the same mistake…just differently, but here goes nothin’.
Wish #1: I would like know people’s true intentions.
Wish #2: I would like to be able to teleport anywhere I have been before, on command.
Wish #3: I would like to be able to instantly take in knowledge in a way that stores it acurately long-term without making me insane.
Ha! In my mind, I keep trying to find ways that these wishes would fuck up my life, but I guess I would hope I would figure out how to harness the fullness of their power and the implications therein. I think the coolest idea is that I can have the first and third in the world that I currently understand. I just have to listen to the world around me and keep honing my craft(s). Hell, even the second is possible if you bend the idea of teleporting. Fun!
What about you? What are you wishing for?
