Alrighty then, so it is what I call the butt crack of dawn (4:30 am) but I thought I would get on and share something I wrote with you guys…
The Psalmist wrote that “as the deer pants for water…”
Well, I am not such a writer but I feel the same
I desire You like a drunk desires a drink
Only I hope to never be cured of this addiction
So I sit here and pour through Your letters
Searching for the feelings of my first Love
I am listening to hear Your voice in every moment
Waiting to feel Your breath warming my heart
There is no drudgery in this moment, only expectation
This is a “labor” of love, if it can be called laborious
For even in this drought You carry me
Your strength and love pick me up and draw me closer
As a new bride on her wedding night, I anticipate You
Looking for Your figure to brighten the doorway of my heart
If I cannot look on Your whole being
May I at least gaze into Your eyes
Just thinking of You fills my heart with life
It threatens to bring tears to my eyes
I was made for You, for such a time as this
Thank you for creating this reckless thirst in me
The Psalmist wrote that “as the deer pants for water…”
Well, I am not such a writer but I feel the same
I desire You like a drunk desires a drink
Only I hope to never be cured of this addiction
*smile* Sorry, that may just be a tad cheesy but it’s the truth…
May God bless you all with the desire to have Him even when you don’t feel Him. May He make His presence known in your life, even when you don’t want Him there. May you always have a holy dissatisfaction that causes you to ever be pressing on and may you not be disappointed in those times of drought. For the Bible says, “In ALL labor there is profit, but mere talk leads to poverty” (Proverbs 14:23-and that applies to all the areas of your life).
Love you guys,
~Amania Ruth~
Psalms 45:11
It is well written, and not cheesy. I like it, good job! love you, bye~AmyBeth~
I’m saying… I like it… very well put… is it because you’re up so early? some of my best writings have been just waking up, and not being able to shake thoughts out of my head in interrupted sleep. regardless… this is very well done… and if there was cheese, it wasn’t too noticeable.. very well done. good job, girl.. was this your appointed time? your hot date? just wondering. keep on, Ashley. May you forever be discontented and dissatisfied when apart from Him. cause whether you feel it or not, you need Him and you know it.
