By now I’m sure that most of you guys have figured out that when I hear something in chapel that is anywhere close to amazing I pass it on. Well, today was one of those days (For all of my fellow ORU students…well, =), I’m sure it won’t hurt you to hear it again.)
Today this guy came and honestly I don’t know his name but he was GOOD. He knew how to speak without yelling or throwing some kind of fit to get your attention. That doesn’t mean that he didn’t get excited but there wasn’t all the yelling that we sometimes grow accustom to.
He spoke on the essential questions that every human asks throughout their life:
-Who am I? (Identity)
-Where am I from? (Heritage)
-Why am I here? (Purpose)
-What can I do? (Potential)
-Where am I going? (Destiny)
And yeah, some of it was the cliche of if you don’t know where you are from then you won’t know where you are going. But in between that there was ALOT of really thought proving statements that he made. One of them was this: “Potential is never something that you have already done” because that means that it is no longer potential. Kinda like in energy (I know many of you were not paying attention in Chemistry but just follow me here). When an object has potential energy, that energy is tied up in bonds or it is because it is on the brink of movement. When it is in motion that means that the energy that was once potential is now kinetic…this does not mean that all of it’s potential is gone. It just means that it has to wait until it is pushed into another reaction or into movement again. What this means for us is that we should never settle for what we have already done, thinking that those things were all that we had to give. There is always more that God is doing in you and through you. Don’t settle for what you have (holy discontentment).
Another thing that he said was this, “I have found the wealthiest mines and they are not the diamond mines of South Africa or the oil mines in Iraq and Iran…they are the cemetries.” He went on to say that these were the wealthiest mines because there the most potential was buried. “Books that were never written. Music that was never sung or played. School that were never opened. Businesses that were never opened. Great women who died as prostitutes. Great men who died as alcoholics and drunks.” He challenged us, and I would like to challenge you in the same manner, “Don’t die full. Die empty.” Don’t let your grave take the things that God has stored inside of you. There are things inside of you that you have not even begun to dream about, but He has. He knew from the dawn of time that you would want to write that book or play that song, reach that person, get that degree. He places desires inside of us to fulfill them. Die like Jesus did. When He died He said, “It is finished.” There was nothing left in Him to accomplish. He had done everything the Father had placed in Him potential to do. Let us run after Him in this manner that in the end we too might also be able to say, “It is finished” and then hear the Father say, “Well done.”
May this be intriguing to you. May The Lord spark new life in your spirit, not because I said it or this speaker said it but because it is time for us to live up to our potential…not doubting that the Father will help us to accomplish all that He created us to do.

Yes, that is definately a good place to be. it’s the feeling you have after a three and a half hour worship service… Empty but joyful, ready to conquer. I don’t want to leave those times. It has been harder for the parents to get me away youth group lately mainly because of this. They saw “are you reday” and i always say “no” because i the peace in the atmosphere afterwards. I have been listening to a lot of worship music lately, Spanish and English, so tha i can be powered up more to do His will in the day. And God has been meeting me where i am. Readiness, STAND READY! for we are going to start advancing SOON. and hell waits for no man, but we will take em by force.

Yes, I too ponder about those souls who wander the streets… their potential. What were they created for? Their former glory is completely hidden by their lack. How woeful! Their former glory completely forgotten due to their iniquities and sorrow created by those very iniquities. Does it not make the heart sickened with grief? Who ARE they? When will they remember?? What will it take for Him to capture their hearts and steal their gazes?
Oh Jesus, help us too to live out our days in completeness, totally satisfying our souls and Your heart so that we too will hear “Well done” and help ME to keep balance when I look at those that walk the streets, so that I won’t forget that they too have a Saviour… in YOU!
