Alright, so I haven’t posted about it being the end because it has been…even though, I finished my last exam on Thursday afternoon. This has mostly been due to the fact that the ending of this semester carries a much heavier blow than the end of most other semesters. This semester I loose my roommate of two years, Joy Elizabeth Jackson.
She and I have been through a lot together, mostly just trying to figure out relationships and how to deal with the overwhelming emotions of being away from the people we love (not being able to be there for them). At first it was terribly awkward, mostly for me, because I didn’t know what to expect from her at all. But slowly and surely, we have grown both she and I…grown to be better people, stronger people. Over these past two years, I have gained a sister…one that I hope to which I always be connected. She has taught me quite a bit, from how to healthfully deal with money to how to look at things from a more patient perspective. We have endured bad relationship, sticky situations, and hard classes. And we have enjoyed some GREAT birthday parties, long conversations, and lots of laughs. It has been a great two years.
So Here’s to You, Joy Elizabeth Jackson.
To you and your great accomplishment of becoming a college graduate. To what you have become and who you are going to become. You are going to be a great business woman. You are going to accomplish bigger things than you could ever imagine. Just be still and know that He is God…He know what He is doing and why He is doing it…and remember, God is good and He always and only does what is right. He loves you, more than I or anyone else ever could. You are going to be a great business woman, I totally and whole-heartedly believe in you.
Yours Always,
Ashley
Yes. Amen. Huzzah for Joy!
Congrats
knowing that He is good and doesn’t change and all that, is quite different than KNOWING and really understanding all that… maybe that’s why the bible says that “wisdom is the principal thing. therefore, get wisdom, and in all thy getting, get UNDERSTANDING”.. and how do you get there? well, Jesus said “in your patience, possess ye your souls”.. and the word patience basically means consistency. in Hebrews, it says “cast not away your confidence, for it hath great recompense for reward.” … “ye have need of patience, that after you have done the will of God you will recieve the promise”..same word… meaning consistency.. we take what we know… such as, feeling lonely: He said He’d never leave us or forsake us, but He’s always there… feeling scared: Perfect love casts out all fear, He did not give us the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and of a sound mind; and instead of just following your current emotion, it’s gotta be a conscious choice to follow what He said. “cast not away your confidence” and the word confidence there means profession, outspokenness, or even publicity… don’t cast away your confession, but like Hebrews says “hold fast to your confession of hope, for He who promised is faithful” and ok… I think I’ve said enough… yeah.. just voicing my thoughts… talk to you later, and thank you very much for your comment… I definitely agree with what you said… your words identify you. God exalted His word even above His name. …yeah.. I’ve talked again.. I’ll talk to you later (oh no, future reference to talking)
Jake (oh no)
Yes, you have MUCh more to learn. I’m going to be SO dang excited to hear about your first day of summer school. I found myself immersed in praying for you during worship at church this morming. WE ALL GOT TO GO!! It was great. Grampa took us out for lunch at O’charlies afterward where we requested the birthday song and complimentary cake thing. ROFL!! MATT WAS SO EMBARRASSED! When he found out what we had requested, five minutes before it actually happened, he said he was going to go to the bathroom when they came. THEN he said he was going to just crawl and sit under the table. He was laughing when I told him that MEN didn’t do such things. He heard the loud clapping coming from the other side of the resteraunt and crouched down and widened his eyes with an “oh nooooo, is that…?” He panicked and went from side to side to side with the wondering of where he could go… and fast. When they arrived seconds later, he sat there with his head turned to the side, face red as a beat, smiling the weirdest smile as they placed a little 6″ cake with a yellow rose on the middle of it in front of him. He was SOOOO funny!!! I couldn’t stop laughing. He wasn’t mortified and in tears like YOU were, but handled it SO strangely. I wish we’d had Dong Yops video digital camera to film it. Oh my gosh, I laughed SO hard! I’ll call you tonight. Oh wait, CAN I? Where ARE you now? LOL! Call ME and I’ll call you right back. It’s been raining here ALL day long. YEsterday was PERFECT weather for the paintballing and camping after Friday’s all day rain. I mean P-E-R-F-E-C-T all day and night. Today? rain rain rain Absolutely a GOD thing. Thank AGAIN, Jesus, for your favor on Matt’s day. Okay, that’s all for now! xoxoxoxox

YAY! I love it when we talk on the phone too long. lol Jesus, I ask that you would provide peace where Ashley needs it, everywhere. I ask that you would show her that you are her provider in everything. That she not look at previous experience to dictate what You look like and how You act in her needy circumstances today. We are ALL in need of you, trapped in our own flesh. Set us free to rejoice in more than your mercy and grace, but in knowing that we have walked in the way that produced the blessings that we desire so desperately.
You are loved ~beJeweled
