Dawn
The horizon is lit finally
The dawn is coming quickly
Don’t blink or you might miss it
Shades of red and orange
Push back the dark hazy blue
Making a way for the Lord of the Morning
Silhouettes of clouds begin to appear
The excitement grows in my heart
Then there is a pause
The growing bands of light elude to a coming
But nothing is seen of the Sun
This pause catches my attention
When suddenly with no trumpets
But the birds, He comes
One ray of light at a time
As He comes woos my heart
Into believing that today is
Some how different than the rest
I drink in this hope
As its purity rushes over me
Written this morning as I watched the beginning of the sunrise…for the first time in a year or two…
