I also heard the story of how this song was written. The man who wrote it and his best friend were at a conference. And his best friend made a vow to God that if there would be a revolution, a rivival, in this generation then he would gladly give his life. Later that day (I believe…or at least soon after) he died in a car accident. The man was broken since he and his best friend were VERY close and seriously lived as brothers. A year went past and the man was still having a difficult time dealing with this death. And in the middle of the “storm” he found God in a very real way. He wrote this song. And this song has been bringing revival and revolution to this generation as it is sung and our praises are poured out to it. This song, birthed out of that man’s death, is bring revival.
