Did you know that life is beautiful? I mean like, do you know that it is off the charts gorgeous?
Did you know that if you live it with your whole body and your whole mind and your whole imagination you feel a little less crazy, a little less trapped?
How do I manage my screen time? I make my real life sweeter than any screen could pretend to offer. I remind myself that I have a LONG list of things that I want to do, experiences I want to allow myself….that doesn’t happen *inside* my screens.
Do I watch TV? Yes. Do I have some apps on my phone that I check persistently? Yes. But when I feel the crazy and twitchy setting in, I remind myself that I want to write a book and climb a mountain and feel the sun on my skin and enjoy my dog’s last years. I want to connect with REAL people who have taken the time to meet with me IN PERSON. I want to be hugged and loved, IN PERSON. I want to eat amazing meals that I created. I want to bake something new…that doesn’t happen *inside* my screens.
Life doesn’t on happen in a screen, that’s just where we advertise our lives….that’s just where the battle for our attention lives.
And, I will win.
